The Cost of Freedom in Today’s World

Some people, because of the fear of losing government benefits (welfare), losing status, friends or followers on Facebook, Instagram or other social media platforms, find it difficult to speak out against the injustices that our governments are doing in our society.
Some people would prefer take the time to put a picture of their meal on social media rather than write about the injustices coming from our governments. It is like a man drowning himself in alcohol trying to escape from the reality of the issues before him.
Yet, here’s the reality of freedoms fought for in the past. Thousands of soldiers have lost their lives for the freedom of their countries.
Nelson Mandela went to prison for many years for the freedom of his country from the evils of apartheid. So what is so bad about losing a social media account today — if it champions your freedom and the freedom of generations to come?
Freedoms are being curtailed and citizens are being forced to do what they do not want to do.
How long can people who have a taste of freedom endure these atrocities?
Like the Cuban citizens rising up against dictatorship in Cuba, I believe that soon we will have many citizens all over the world rising up against the dictatorship that has been taking place, even in our countries that are not communist/socialist nations.
